Chapters 1 & 2

This week I started reading New Moon. I read Twilight last semester, so I thought it was appropriate for me to keep going with the series. I was a bit skeptical about this series at first, but so many people had such great things to say about it, that I decided to give it a shot. I was glad that I enjoyed Twilight and was hoping that New Moon would be just as good. Sure enough, I am already hooked! I read the first two chapters and they were pretty exciting. Bella turned 18 and the Cullen's decided to throw her a little party. While Bella was opening a present she got a paper cut from the wrapping paper and things got chaotic! Jasper smelled the blood and tried to attack Bella. Luckily, Edward was there to shove Bella out of the way. Bella was thrown onto the table which was covered with plates and the cake. Bella ended up landing in a mess of shattered glass and cut her arm pretty bad. This made it hard for all of the Cullens except for Carlisle. He was able to stitch Bella up without any trouble. While Bella was getting her stitches she asked Carlisle how he managed to be around blood and not seem to be fased by it. This question led into why he decided to change Edward into a vampire. He explained it a lot better, with more detail than Edward did in Twilight.
